''New Device Application of Organic Semiconductors''
|
|
Abstract
Organic electronics based on organic materials has been applied to various
fields and devices since the research on conducting polymers was awarded
the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2000. OLED displays using light emitting
property of the organic materials have already been successfully commercialized.
However, none of the successors of OLED including organic solar cells,
organic sensors and organic transistors led to any tangible commercial
products yet. In this presentation, current development status and research
directions for novel applications of organic electronics such as organic
photodiodes for image sensors and TFTs with high mobility for flexible
OLED displays will be discussed.;

Short Biography
Dr. Sangyoon Lee is currently a senior vice president and a general manager of Organic Materials Lab. at Samsung Electronics Co.
After his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford
University in 1998, he Joined Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology
in 2002, where he led developments of various technologies related to next
generation display including flexible full color e-paper, printable display,
foldable AMOLED and ultra-definition LCD technology. He also worked on
printable organic or inorganic TFTs, oxide TFTs, Nano-wire TFTs. He currently
serves as the national project leader of the Printed Electronics Total
Solution (PETS) which receives the government subsidy of 197M USD for total
6 years of development period. His current research interests include organic
electronics, flexible and stretchable electronics, and organic sensors.
